My name is Viwe Bonga an enthusiastic 28 year old male with so much devotion for community development and Youth empowerment. I matriculated in 2014 and after that been busy with leadership programs and community development programs for which one of them I co founded and currently assume a position of a managing director. As mentioned, right after Matric I came back to the school I matriculated in as a head coach for the school's debate team, 3 years later started a Tutoring and mentorship program, which still exists to this day with Atleast over 250 beneficiaries for this year.

The program is a non-profit community based program that was founded by Young people around the Phillipi catchment area. The program provides intensive academic tutoring and personal development sessions to motivated grade 8 and 9 high school learners at under-resourced schools in the Phillipi catchment area. The overall aim of the programme is to provide a solid academic foundation and develop life skills and resilience in the general education and training(GET) phase to prepare learners for success in senior high school and beyond.

Sylvia Kenda, Kenya

My name is Sylvia Kenda, a community worker currently based in Spur Afrika Kibera. I am a strategic partnership and development coordinator with the aim of using my skills to bring partners to assist in growing the organization's capacity. My main interest is being able to offer hope by facilitating school fees for children and youth who are unable to support themselves and skills to empower women and youth who may not feel comfortable to go back to school.

Our project is a yearly sponsorship program. The project has been in operation in the organization for the past 14 years and has enabled growth from 2 children being supported to around 160 children or more going through the program. The aim of sponsorship is to provide access to quality education for every child, without discrimination.

I'm Offa, a teacher with a passion for transforming young minds in Nigeria. For years, I've been crafting engaging learning experiences for kids aged 3 to 9, turning content-heavy lessons into hands-on projects that spark curiosity and critical thinking. Beyond academics, I'm all about nurturing holistic development and bridging the gap between a child's academic, emotional, and social needs. Whether it's sparking a love for learning or fostering emotional intelligence, I'm on a mission to help children thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

My main goal is to enrich learning for children across Nigeria by training teachers to develop the knowledge and skill to nurture the whole child. Which involves socio-emotional learning and 21st century skills

Neville Bezzina, Malta

Neville Bezzina is an experienced writer, marketer, adult educator, and entrepreneur with a keen interest in the intersections between technology, psychology and self-improvement. The idea of QuayCards (pronounced "Ki Cards") stemmed from personal experience observing how people learn and change their behaviour in real-world settings. 

QuayCards is meant to address a gap in the self-education space for those who need to grasp key concepts quickly without using books or internet-connected devices. We partner with authors and publishers to unlock key knowledge within self-help books by adapting them into physical resources for youth and young adults or those working with them, such as youth workers, social workers, educators or psychotherapists. The goal is to make important concepts accessible and practical for everyone, regardless of their ability to engage with or access traditional or digital education.

Muskan Ahirwar, India

I'm Muskan Ahirwar, a 12th-grade humanities student. In 2016, I started Kitabi Masti with 121 books outside my home, now a library of 2100+ books. With support from Rajya Shiksha Kendra and volunteers, it's a study hub and community space in Bhopal's Durga Nagar, a low income neighborhood. Open daily, we offer tutoring, support for at-risk students, and school supply distribution. My efforts earned national and international recognition, including awards from Niti Ayog, Princess Diana, and the UN. My vision extends to establishing more reading centers like Kitabi Masti, providing marginalized children with vital support and space to flourish.

Kitabi Masti is a library in my slum area where I live. It is opened after school in the evening every day. Kids come here to read books, which are different from their school books. The plan is to get children interested in reading and interested in education. My focus is especially for girls education as many of my friends have dropped out of school at an early age. Girls are expected to do only house work and get married. But I want to change that. Children in my area also spend time outside, not studying and the library helps to keep them busy and productive.

I am from the third batch of M.D Emergency medicine students from India. I have worked in 3 different hospitals including a Tribal hospital, and flood relief missions which have helped me develop a more holistic idea of emergency medicine and health care in general. I aspire to become a faculty in emergency medicine in a teaching hospital in India and train students while creating awareness about this vital specialty. I am interested in soft skills development with special interest in physician well being. I hope to help quality of medical education in India by using Quality Medical education as a hook to bring in principles of leadership and coaching to help medical professionals make balanced career decisions and bring kindness to themselves and their colleagues.

Maya Bridgman, Canadian living in UAE

I am a Canadian student, raised in Dubai, studying artificial intelligence and computational neuroscience at Stanford University. Academically, I am fascinated by the intersectionality between the brain and AI/ML, as AI enables us to fundamentally explore how our brains operate, allowing us to better treat neurological conditions. I am deeply passionate about democratizing AI education, particularly to disadvantaged youth in developing countries to reduce algorithmic bias and close the digital divide. I developed my own novel, accessible AI curriculum and have taught it to the over 1,200 students of my thriving global community, the ‘Dubai AI Society’.

I aim to democratise AI Education to all students (targeting those aged 12 to 25) globally, regardless of their background or location. Through doing so, I intend to: aid in closing the digital divide; diversify the AI industry by introducing students from more varied backgrounds to AI/ML when they begin to explore their academic interests; and help them understand how AI is impacting the world around them and how they can harness its potential in a safe, positive manner.

Currently l am running a project called ‘Rise And Thrive Girl’, mentoring young women in my community. I equip them with skills and also support them to overcome life challenges by providing structured programs. My aim is to close the gender gap in various fields and encourage young women to persue their careers. Girls Quality education is a road map to women empowerment aims to promote girls with access to high-quality education in order to empower and enhance their socioeconomic condition. Also to guarantee that girls have equal access to school and are given the skills and opportunity to fulfil their full potential.This involves fostering an atmosphere where girls may succeed intellectually, socially, and emotionally, as well as gain the skills and knowledge required to become powerful women in their communities and beyond. It Prioritises girls' education aims to break down gender barriers and build a more inclusive and equitable society for all.

Growing up, I remember one time during one of our English sessions, I was called out and sent home due to arreas of school fees. I got home and what greeted me was my mother's face of disappointment, she felt she had let me down but still trying to encourage me that I'd be back to school in no time, from that point I knew I wanted to actively become an education activist so that no other child could go through what I went through. I am Kijala, an education activist, communications and mentorship officer, and changemaker.

Our project, Elimsha, is dedicated to delivering quality education to children living in the informal settlements of Kibera. By providing these children with access to high-quality education and mentorship, we are equipping them with the tools to empower themselves. This empowerment not only transforms their own lives but also contributes to the eradication of poverty in their communities. Through our mentorship programs, we engage children in activities that foster skill development and holistic personal growth.

I am an 18-year-old girl who completed high school in 2022. I am in September starting a Biomedical Engineering degree. My career goal is Manufacturing, Equipment testing, and field servicing Engineer and/or Biomedical Scientist/Researcher to contribute solving clinical problems facing my country.
I am passionate about bringing positive change to my community by helping students in my village day school to get an opportunity for quality education as opposed to simply ticking boxes that they went to high school. I am passionate about science subjects. Apart from impacting my community, I enjoy cooking and experimenting with new recipes.

My project is on renovating the laboratory in the school and also equipping it so that it is fit to serve the students in the school and the whole Msabaha and Gede area at large.
