I am currently studying Economics and leading an organization - Dynamic Youth Nepal as a Founding President for advocating the rights and needs of the underprivileged and marginalized children and young people. 

I am passionate about WYSE international, because it is the best platform to exchange views, ideas, knowledge and experience with the young leaders from all over the world. This program enhanced my way of thinking attitude and prospective and supported my strong belief that change starts with individuals.

Melbourne, Australia

I believe that in order to facilitate change at a global level, I have to discover my true purpose and be a leader to myself first.  As my favorite poet Rumi said “Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.'’  Therefore, I am so passionate about WYSE as it was a life changing experience. WYSE has not only deepened my understanding in the underlying causes of global issues, but most importantly, it gave me a unique opportunity to further explore and connect with my true inner self. I have gained a sense of clarity, balance and strong trust within myself. This programme has helped me to excel so much further as a leader, a true leader. Most importantly, this has led me to a group of amazing global citizens (who I see as family) who share similar aspirations, dreams and desires to make positive changes to the world. 

Pakistan

My Name is Fareed Ullah. I graduated in civil engineering from Islamabad and earned a Masters degree in international relations from the University of Peshawar. I am founder and Executive Director of Participatory Rural Development Society (PRDS) – a national NGO working for humanitarian relief and sustainable development in Pakistan. 

I have also developed “Pak NGOs Home” which is a web based network that aims to provide information for NGO’s in Pakistan. 

I am passionate about WYSE because the programme has supported me to develop my-self awareness.

India

Harsh is a public policy consultant and has worked with several national and international development organisations, including the Planning Commission of the Government of India. He is also a Co-founder of an anti-ragging (bullying) organisation called CURE (Coalition to Uproot Ragging from Education, www.noragging.com ) and has been running it for the past 10 years. His interest lies in international affairs, analytical thinking and thought leadership.   

I am passionate about WYSE, because I feel it provides an excellent platform to learn and grow by interacting with like-minded and thoughtful young people from across the world. I attended WYSE International Leadership Programme in 2006 which enriched my thought process and I still find it useful in dealing with difficult challenges of life.

New Zealand

I Live in Bristol, UK but am originally from Auckland, NZ.  I currently work as an Associate in Public Sector Pensions (but no, you can not ask me about your pension!)  My love of working with young people came about in high school and from this time I was involved in many different youth programmes.  I have participated in the Ship for World Youth 17 Programme as part of the NZ delegation and when in my home county I work at Youthline which is a Youth helpline, counselling, support and youth development service. I attend WYSE ILP in 2006 and ALP in 2010 and in my role as ambassador, am hoping to get more people attending this brilliant programme from any part of the world I can!  WYSE has been such a crucial part of my journey and I feel it is such a unique programme that should be shared with all of those who strive for something (even if they don't know what it is yet!)

New Dehli, India

Manmohan has over 10 years of experience ranging from Leadership Development, Systemic Change, Start-ups, and non-profit management. He has worked with local, regional, national and international institutions like, WHO, UNICEF, MSF, PRATHAM and KEF. Currently, he is working as a founding member of an innovative organization called Kaivalya Education Foundation to create thousands of change leaders through a fellowship and to create a set of education leaders in India and South Asia to ensure quality education delivery for all children.

With over 10 years of total work experience in the corporate and non-profit space, Neha is currently associated with Gandhi Fellowship, a youth leadership program in India. She is enthusiastic about working with people to help them explore their dreams and passions in order to discover their true potential.

Singapore

I am an Australian born Chinese traveler who has found a home in Singapore. During my travels, I have been blessed to meet and work with people from different backgrounds whether it is on the tennis court or in the corporate world. I am an executive search consultant during the week and a tennis/ high performance coach during the odd weekend. Through values based education, WYSE inspires and impacts young and old in a positive manner- something which resonates with my own personal development and professional career. I am happy to pay it forward by promoting WYSE to the community around me.

Nepal

I am currently working as an Environmentalist for the cement industry in Nepal. I also work freelance for consulting companies, GO’s, and NGO’s. My expertise is in Good Governance, Transformational Social Mobilization, Participatory Planning Approach and Community Development. I am passionate about working towards uplifting the livelihood of the ultra- poor grassroots level community of rural Nepal. I hold a Bachelor degree in Environmental Engineering and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Disaster Risk Reduction.

The WYSE program energised and motivated me, it supported me to clarify my thoughts and enhanced my self-belief. 

India

I am Pallavi Gandhalikar, an adventure loving, daring and passionate young woman. 

I have been involved with different organizations that are working in the field of Education, Peace Building and Youth leadership like Play for Peace, Saathi, World Vision, Doorstep, I DISCOVER I, Learning Space and Kaivalya Education Foundation. I am currently working as a Program Director at Masoom Education Foundation that is a youth based organization and works with night school students in Mumbai. 

I am passionate about WYSE, because I feel that it is a very unique leadership programs as it has the correct balance of addressing one’s social, spiritual, mental, psychological, creative and intellectual growth. It provides an excellent opportunity to learn and grow by interacting with like-minded and thoughtful young people from across the world. 

Kabul, Afghanistan

Parwiz Habib studied economics at Aligarh Muslim University in India and pursued his masters in post-war recovery studies at the University of York in the UK. 

He has worked as a professional member of the World Trade Organization Unit in Ministry of Commerce and Industries of Government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (GIRoA).  

Parwiz has been working with the Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG) of GIRoA in different capacities. He has served as a planning and implementation specialist and communication and reporting specialist in Strategic Coordination Unit of IDLG. Recently, he has become part of IDLG Strategic Advisory Unit where he works on strategic communication.

I’m a researcher cum curious entrepreneur by profession and am passionate about social development. I work in the designing & development of low-cost assistive tools and technologies to address grand challenges.I want to build intelligent machines to improve and aid the decision making process of people and enhance human capabilities.

Belief in yourself, perseverance and courage are the three things I value most.

I feel passionate about WYSE because it has helped me to become aware, more self-reliant and to appreciative. Most importantly, I have learned to accept and reflect on myself which has supported me to learn and understand the beauty of work and the art of good leadership.

Bangladesh

This is Samia and I shout from Bangladesh. I hope to complete my undergraduate level of education this year. Time will only tell what I do next but I hope I can be with WYSE all my life. Being in ILP last year I made an entry into a global family. Over the months I have learnt I can teach my WYSE lessons quite well, in fact the program brought out my potentials. At WYSE I was inspired to step away from my comfort zone and try new things. I hope ALP too, comes my way and WYSE opens up more windows for me.

I am German by origin, now living in Melbourne, Australia where I work as a Learning & Development Manager for a Consultancy firm.

I attended WYSE ILP in Japan and am eager to spread the word about this marvelous opportunity to learn about yourself, your approach to life as well as how to contribute to the world. 

Patna, India

Presently I am working as a Gender Specialist in the International Rice Research Institute in India; working intensively with women farmers.  In the last 8 years I have worked with government bodies and both national and international organizations in India, focusing on policy and sustainable change in gender rights. 

In my day to day life, my learning from WYSE helps me to think more positively, make decisions, take action and grow as an individual.  I am strongly passionate about WYSE because I have seen it give positive and reflective thought to young adults. I believe that WYSE has immense power to create powerful , sustainable change for humanity.

Mumbai, India

Tasneem Kakal is a student of Sociology - Economics at St. Xavier's College. She likes working with different projects which work towards social change. Her passion for community development was fuelled when she saw the influences of a capitalist framework in the Indian context. She has worked with her university's Social Service League for three years and ran an environment-focussed pilot project with them as well. She recognizes knowledge and believes that social change can only be brought about by changing 'ways of thinking'. She loves to travel, read, and is a Sociology enthusiast.
